Butte County General Plan 2030 - Progress Report (Remaining Schedule PDF)

October 26, 2010 - Butte County Board of Supervisors Adopts General Plan

2010-10-19  Staff is preparing the Final General Plan 2030 documents, resolutions, findings, etc. for consideration of adoption by the Board of Supervisors at 1:30 pm on October 26, 2010.

2010-07-07  We have completed the public review of the Draft EIR.  We are in the process of responding to all comments which will be included in the Final EIR.  We have our destination in site.  We have some final issues to resolve at our meeting with the Board of Supervisors on July 27, 2010.  Then, we can complete the General Plan 2030 document and prepare/finalize things for adoption by the Board of Supervisors on October 26, 2010.

2009-11-03  We are nearly 1/2 way complete with the public review process of the Draft Butte County General Plan 2030 document.  We have our last CAC meeting this coming Thursday, November 5, 2009.  After that, we will meet with the Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission on January 19th and 21st to complete Workshop Series #7.

2009-08-17  Butte County's DRAFT General Plan 2030 is undergoing its final editing and is scheduled for release the first week in September, 2009 for public review and comment.

2009-06-18  Butte County's General Plan staff is currently reviewing the Administrative DRAFT of Butte County General Plan 2030.  We expect this review process to take four weeks.  At that time, staff will return the edited DRAFT document to the Consultant Team for finalization and release of the DRAFT of Butte County General Plan 2030 to the public in August 2009.

2009-03-03  The General Plan 2030 process continues to sail ahead.  The finalization of Goals & Policies occurred at the Board of Supervisors meeting on February 18 & 19, 2009 (Workshop Series #5).  What's next?  Staff and the consultant team is working on the 1st Draft of the new General Plan, the new Zoning Ordinance and the EIR.  All documents are targeted for release in August 2009.

2008-08-25  The General Plan 2030 process sails on to its next port, that of the creation of Goals & Policies (Workshop Series #5).  For meeting information, please visit our homepage.

2008-2008-07-17  Development Services staff have prepared over 1,700 pages of information for the Board of Supervisors to consider the work completed by the public, Citizens Advisory Committee and the Planning Commission regarding the 31 Study Areas.  The Board will review each Study Area on July 29 & July 30, 2008 and make a recommendation for each of the 31 Study Areas.  It is hoped that once all Study Areas have been reviewed, that the Board of Supervisors will make a motion adopting the Preliminary Preferred Alternative for Butte County General Plan 2030, which will complete Workshop Series #4.

2008-04-16  Development Services staff and our consultant team are working with our Citizens Advisory Committee to evaluate and make recommendations to the Planning Commission regarding which Alternative is appropriate for each Study Area.

2008-03-04  There are a lot of exciting things happening with Butte County General Plan 2030.  Next week, March 14, 2008, the Alternatives Evaluation Report will be released.  This 650 page document (which will be posted on this website AND CDs will be available for free upon request) provides a great deal of information to assist in the upcoming discussions of creating a Preferred Alternative.  This Preferred Alternative Workshop Series #4 will begin on March 27, 2008.

2007-12-05 (After the completion of Workshop Series #2/3 by the Board of Supervisors on 2007-11-27, a meeting was held with the Citizens Advisory Committee to 're-group' and prepare for Workshop Series #4).  Butte County General Plan 2030 is 'right on course and on schedule'.
