Meeting Calendar for the Zoning Ordinance

A series of meetings will be held to identify key issues associated with the new Zoning Ordinance.  The new Zoning Ordinance is being prepared in conjunction with the Butte County General Plan 2030 project. The meeting series will begin with a Citizens Advisory Committee meeting on March 11, 2010.  The CAC will focus on how the new zoning code will implement new Butte County General Plan 2030 policy. A community workshop led by General Plan Consultant DC&E and County staff will take place on July 28, 2010 after publication of the Draft Zoning Ordinance in May, 2010. County staff will identify individuals and groups within the County who will offer key input and feedback regarding how current zoning standards may be refined or revised. These individuals and groups will be encouraged to attend the Community Workshop. County staff will then hold up to 10 individual meetings with the Planning Commission to comprehensively review the Draft Zoning Ordinance and review all public comment. The Board of Supervisors will review and adopt the updated Zoning Ordinance and associated environmental document in early 2011.  All scheduled meetings are open to the public who are encouraged to attend and provide input.  Additional details concerning this process will be posted on www.buttegeneralplan.net including additional resources, draft documents, meeting times, agendas and meeting locations.
